Our friends at Chung Jung One have a fabulous Gochujang Korean Chili Sauce that combines red peppers, cane sugar, garlic, sea salt, and other ingredients for a terrific umami flavor that’s both sweet and savory. Packaged in an easy squeezy bottle, it begs to be added to sandwiches, main dishes and more. While it’s a Korean flavor profile, you may quickly find it transforms lots of dishes into something special.
For quick and elegant hors d’oeuvres, we started with fresh cucumber slices from cukes just picked from the garden (it’s ok if they are from the store – use what you have access to). Top each slice with a fresh avocado piece then finish with a dab of the gochujang sauce. As an alternative, go ahead and substitute hummus for the avocado.
It’s a healthy bite that is perfect with drinks or anytime. As a low calorie, vegan and gluten-free nibble, you won’t hesitate to eat a bunch and serve to your pickiest eater friends. Almost too easy but oh so tasty!
Cheers and pass the platter please.
